SARS-CoV-2 antibodies can protect from reinfection, NCI study suggests

As COVID-19 vaccines start to roll out in the US, research led by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) reveals that individuals with evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection have some level of protection against reinfection. Using real-world data from over 3 million people, the study found that those who had tested positive for antibodies were significantly less likely to test positive for the virus again compared to those who had tested negative.
